The Philosophy of Science and Religion

An axiom is an assumption that is accepted on faith. Axioms are suppose to be self evident, but when it comes to science and religion, there is not a general consensus as to which axioms are correct. A paradigm is a set of beliefs shared by many people describing reality or some aspect of reality. While paradigms are based on observations, axioms determine how these observation are interpreted. Thus, to a large extent, axioms determine paradigms. This chapter will explore the effect of axioms on science and religion. It will also show that with indirect logic, science can accommodate the intelligent design paradigm.
